Not entirely true, though there are still issues. As I stated above, go to nvidia settings and set openGL rendering to the GPU. Set application settings for M24 in graphics settings on your PC to maximum performance. Limit FPS in game to either 60 or 120 depending on what you have with full screen on. I described still having a slow game at times and grainy looking, compromised graphic quality, but that was because I changed a couple of other things that were causing problems, and after restoring to default settings and then setting openGL to GPU again, it fixed that. So it's actually running pretty well for me so far, although it still does not use the GPU as much as it should, and CPU temp should still be monitored. Don't misunderstand me - this is still pretty unacceptable all around when there's a little anxiety about how the CPU temp can potentially get high.
Spoke too soon, predictably. It's running like crap again, possibly a result of the update, and I've verified over and over that everything is set the way that worked for me before. I also tried other things. But nope, it's right on back to using the CPU heavily, and barely using the GPU at all. And of course, all they're going to do is continue ignoring this, as if a bunch of people didn't just spend $70 or more on the PC version. We've pinged them, we've posted about this repeatedly, everyone and their mother knows the PC version has issues, and EA refuses to even speak about the issue(s) at all. Ridiculous.
Still not fixed this is actually crazy... this is the longest any game I ever owned had such a big issue that hasn't been fixed!

Honestly, it's running pretty close to the worst I've seen it ever run. I started pre launch with the EA play trial, where it was pretty much unplayable, so technically I've seen the game run a little worse, but....this time around, it's doing this slowing down, screen tearing, and occasionally lagging/speeding up to catch up. Verified that v-sync is off everywhere, since that can cause this. Like I said, I'm someone who knows what he's doing with tech. And it's really, really bad and almost unplayable right now. Still trying a few things to see if it helps..I had it running great before the update...figures...
