  • @lowerwolfThe CPU tries to look at down and distance vs score , because most Madden games are only 4-6 minutes just like in real life more passing plays happen unless the score is in favor the offense to run and eat clock. If you play 12-15 minute quarters on All-Pro or All-Madden you will see more of a NFL type feel on play-calling , that's why you see more passing in the NFL in the second half if the teams are even or only by 1 score.

    The issue persists even with longer quarter lengths. It has to do with how the plays are starred in the playbooks. Lots of testing done in that thread I linked. 

    I missed it earlier, but today's patch notes mentioned that AI play calling will be addressed in a future title update. I take it to mean they're aware of the issue and will fix it at some point.
