I just did the Rising Stars Champion Fantasy Pack 99 overall set and chose Rashawn Slater LT, but the game won't let me upgrade him. Everytime i try to upgrade him it just kicks me of MUT. I can upgrade all my other players just fine without getting kicked off MUT.

I am having a similar issue with a rising star card that I bought off the auction.
Why don’t you fix the desync problem. That should be number one. You can still play the game without an upgraded player. You can’t even play two downs without getting desynced.
