Summarize your bug
I’ve encountered a serious issue with Madden 25 on PlayStation 5 following the most recent update. Initially, everything was working fine—I had built my player up to a 99 overall in what was then called Superstar Mode. I was able to use the 4,500 points and other bonuses I received as part of the Madden 25 and College Football 25 pre-order bundle to progress in the game.
However, after the last update, the game began crashing every time I tried to play. I followed troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue, but after doing so, the game reset, and I lost all my progress. Now, the mode is called Face of the Franchise, and my player, career, and all associated progress have been completely erased. I also no longer have access to any of the pre-order bonuses.
How often does the bug occur?
Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?
I submitted detailed crash reports every time it happened for error code: CE-108255-1
What happens when the bug occurs?
I've lost all game data since trying to troubleshoot the crashes
What do you expect to see?
As a resolution, if it’s not possible to recover my player, I would like the pre-order bonuses restored so I can start over again.
I included all of that information in my original post

Hey Everyone,
We appreciate all the info you’ve shared with us so far on these crashes and error codes. If you haven't so far, please try the steps from Sony:
You can also try the following:
Spoiler- Make sure you have the latest software update.
- Troubleshoot your connection to EA games
- Perform a power cycle.
- Touch the power button on the front of the console for at least seven seconds until the system beeps twice.
- Turn it back on after one minute.
- Launch your game.
- Unplug any devices attached to the USB slot.
- Restore the license for the game.
- Go to Settings on your PlayStation.
- Click Account Management then Restore Licenses.
If you continue running into this error message on your console, you might want to try some workarounds shared be the community. I wanted to take a moment and highlight some that other players have shared in the past. These may help with the error codes that you've been seeing.
Please note: these are not official steps from PlayStation for these error codes, but they have helped other players in the past. When you have a moment please give these steps a try:
Spoiler- If you have an external storage drive, check to see if the game has been accidentally installed on both the internal and external drives. Sometimes the game can be installed on the external drive, but the updates are installed on the internal. Data is being pulled from two different sources which can cause technical issues.
- One way to do this is by uninstalling CF25 and temporarily removing your external drive. Then check if any files remain on your internal drive. If not, reinstall CF25 on your internal drive and test again.
- If anything is plugged into a USB slot on the console, remove the device and test again.
- Other common community solutions (I've linked the posts below):
You can also find other community workarounds by using the search bar at the top of Answers HQ or by clicking here.
Thanks!
