Black cleats in franchise mode

I'm playing franchise mode with the Patriots and when editing some players' shoes, they only can wear black cleats. Each shoe in the menu shows up as black on the player model. This doesn't seem to affect all players. For instance, I traded for Olave and he can only wear black cleats, but I traded for Guerendo and he can wear the cleats with the right color (depending on the model, they're white, red, blue or black). I also noticed that Spillane only has black shoes when editing his shoes.
