This is still broken from last year. I can update depth chart changes and save to the official roster but once you invite a friend you are prompted to download the official rosters again. This is one of the reasons I quit playing Madden last year because every time I played a friend we paused the game spent five minutes to change the depth charts.
Playing a quick match does not have this issue. Please fix!!! Going on two years now.

Hey, I mean it’s not a bug to fix really…
Its just that you can’t play H2H online without having the roster update, it actually says it on the screen.
The thing here is I did that to try playing a friend, but once we noticed we can’t play without the update roster, we updated and play normally, but after that, we cannot play anymore, it just kick me out when I’m at the loading screen before game. So that’s the really issue
Nah still have to pause and fix depth chart every game, crazy that CFB allows you to save your preferences in Depth chart and Madden doesn't
