I am posting this to document an ongoing issue with Madden NFL 26 Superstar Mode that has been broken on my EA account since October. Superstar Mode consistently returns Error Code 263 and has been completely inaccessible for months.
This issue is not related to hardware, internet connectivity, or user error. I want to clearly outline the extent of troubleshooting that has already been completed so this can be recognized as an EA backend or account-level problem.
Superstar Mode stopped working in October and has never recovered. The error occurs every time the mode is accessed. The issue persists across multiple title updates and server maintenance periods. Other EA titles, including College Football 25 Superstar/Road to Glory, function normally on the same EA account.
Since October, I have completed all standard and advanced troubleshooting steps multiple times. This includes clearing local save data, clearing cloud saves, clearing Madden reserved space, power cycling the console, removing and re-adding my Xbox profile, uninstalling and reinstalling Madden NFL 26, attempting to create new Superstar files, and verifying EA account sign-in and connectivity.
I have also unlinked and relinked my Xbox account through EA Account Management using a web browser, which forces a fresh authentication token. The issue still persists.
Most importantly, since this problem began, I have moved to a completely new apartment, changed physical locations, and set up an entirely new internet service provider and Wi-Fi network with different hardware. The error still occurs exactly the same way. This definitively rules out ISP issues, router issues, NAT configuration, or local network problems.
The problem is clearly account-specific. The same console, stable network, and EA account work correctly for other EA games. Error Code 263 has persisted for months across different environments and locations.
Based on the behavior, this appears to be a backend authentication failure or a corrupted Superstar profile or entitlement on EA’s servers. Continued troubleshooting on the console or network side will not resolve this.
This issue requires EA-side intervention, specifically a Superstar profile reset and an entitlement rebuild at the account level.
I am posting this to document the scope and duration of the issue and to request that EA acknowledge this as a long-term account-level bug and provide a path for affected users to have their accounts repaired.

I have the same exact issue except on ps5. It’s definitely an issue on their end that they are not going to fix. We’re already more than halfway through the games’ life cycle. They’re on to Madden 27 and routine maintanence for MUT. The update just the other day clearly shows they have zero care to address this issue that has persisted for more than 6 months. We just have to stop giving them our money at this point.

I agree completely. It’s frustrating to see so much development focus placed on other modes while overlooking Superstar, which is a major reason many players purchase the game each year. As a working parent, I don’t have the time to commit to modes like Call of Duty or other always-online, nonstop experiences. Superstar offers something unique: an immersive, competitive experience that can be played at my own pace, including the ability to pause when real life intervenes. That balance is exactly what makes the mode valuable to players like me, and it deserves the same level of attention and stability as EA’s other flagship modes.
