Superstar scenario stat glitch

There is a glitch where your created player will have apparently come in for the first play of the game (eg. To sub out QB1) and he will have accumulated the stats from the QB1. How do I have 100 yards and 2 TDs when I have been on the sideline. It takes away from the immersion and I want to earn my own stats.
