Coordinator/Coach - Massive Bug??

I play in an almost full online franchise league and it's super fun. We're in our first season, but I've worked hard on my team and put all my coach points into my head coach & offensive coordinator. 

We just simmed to Week 7 and randomly my Offensive Coordinator disappeared. It now shows "Position Open" in his spot when I open Coach Central. After reviewing league transactions, he left my team to go be the head coach of another team when a user left the league. 

How is this possible? There's no way EA let's this happen when an online league can be so volatile with high turnover...right? Is there a way to reverse this and get my offensive coordinator back? 

Also, when I try to play a game it says I can't because I don't have an offensive coordinator. DUH!! I don't see any obvious way to get my offensive coordinator back OR even hire a new one. Do we seriously not have a hire coach option when the game can just automatically fire them? 

Am I completely missing something here or is this just a massive bug? Is there a way to resolve this issue?
