Loss In Franchise OT Match

OT game in Franchise.  Packers up 27-20.  Commanders with a 4th and inches at the GB 20.

They kick a FG and lose 27-23

In what backwards football world does this logic make any sense?  This needs to be addressed and not in November or December.  It needs to be addressed NOW.

Be better than that, EA Sports!

BigBlueFan81 Yeah, that's not cool. I haven't seen much with a loss like this, but I did jot it down for later. The franchise is a hard one, but something like this is testable, so I will leave a note for it. I will poke around and see if I can find more like it; that way, I can add those to the note, too.

    Cheers!

EA_Shepard  Thanks for the response.  Can I bring a couple of other things to your attention?  You may or may not be aware of these.  In Super Sim, the kickoffs in Fast and Normal are missing the landing zone.  Most of the times, the kicks go in the end zone which is not consistent with new NFL rules.  Also, the touchbacks are still going out to the 30 instead of the 35.  This really needs to be adjusted so Kickoff stats aren’t skewed.

Secondly, in Slow Sim games, in games with the Halftime Highlights, the second half is not automatically starting.  You have to manually change it from fast to slow sim.  This can cause an issue if you do cpu vs cpu and walk away for a time.  The team kicking off keeps getting delay of game penalties.

Please notate and have someone look into these issues.

    Thanks

BigBlueFan81 Of course, that is why I am here. Those are exactly the kinds of small but meaningful issues that mess with immersion and stats.

The kickoff stuff is a big one. If the ball’s not landing in play more often, it throws off return numbers and makes the new NFL rules feel ignored. And yeah, touchbacks going to the 30 instead of the 35? That’s a pretty glaring oversight, especially when it directly affects field position logic and overall realism. Five yards can make or break a play you run.

That second issue with Slow Sim is rough, too. If someone’s running CPU vs CPU games, you expect the flow to continue automatically. Needing to manually change sim speed mid-game—and getting hit with delay of game flags—isn’t just annoying, it breaks the experience entirely. It drives me nuts, making me run that quickly. Not everyone knows what they want to run within a few seconds.

Are you submitting these as bugs anywhere? Or just hoping enough noise gets made to catch EA’s attention? Also, would you want more options in Super Sim itself—like kickoff logic sliders or better AI timeout use—or is your main hope just that the basic stuff gets fixed and runs clean?

    Cheers!

EA_Shepard I regularly post over at Operation Sports and have mentioned the bugs there.  As far as logic sliders, anything that would help the cpu make decisions close to real life would be great.  Ultimately though, just patching the kickoff and time out and end of game situational logic would work just as well.  Thanks.

BigBlueFan81 I get that. We have all gone years with the CPU in a lot of games, making us go - What? I have the threads noted in my list anyway, but the specifics do help a lot, so that is always appreciated.
