Horrid game

Not only does it Not represent true football, but it finally isn’t fun anymore. Can’t truly even play defense in this game. And the run game is now completely dead. Sadly, guess it’s finally time to move on from simulated football since it’s the only thing in town (sigh). Very sad times for football gamers. 

The thing is ... if this game just came out totally new, it would be "pretty good". The fact that it's basically Madden 25 with a few half-arsed improvements, which was basically Madden 24 with a few half-arsed improvements, etc. means that it truly does seem like a scam.

If the difference between Madden 25 -> Madden 26 was a free patch/update, I'd think, "okay, that's pretty reasonable, they've made a decent effort". But a NEW GAME? Get out of town. It's a scam.

I know a lot of people are calling for competition with 2K being given a licence. Unfortunately, I doubt it's ever happening. I suspect - I don't know - that EA and 2K have come to some kind of agreement. We'll take the NFL, you take the NBA, let's not either of us mess with each other's cash cows.

As soon as the compeition went, both games went downhill. Just really lazy and scammy by EA.

When I read your posts, I don't think I'm playing the same game as you guys...  Likewise when I relate my experiences, you guys aren't going to think your playing the same game as me.  Let me say this, so we I'm not misunderstood:  The only reason I own a gaming system is to play Madden.  I like Gran Turismo, Call of Duty, Fortnite, etc, but I'd never have bought a system to play them.  So I'm a little biased...  

Do any of you who claim Madden is "little more than a roster update" every year even tried to go back and play Madden from years past?  
Do you actually use any of the new features?

The reason I ask is because I have dug into the archives and tried to play Madden before it had some signature features.  Mind you, since I play Online exclusively for over 20 years, the only thing that we all have in common is gameplay and strategic control.  The gameplay changes a little with each patch, but it takes about 2-3 snaps on offense/defense to get used it.  The strategic control has only gotten better.  the only thing I miss is selecting an offensive and defensive focus before each half ala Madden NFL 23 (I think).  

Regarding features... I DON'T USE HALF THE THINGS AT MY DISPOSAL.  I'm sure that I'm not using all the strategic features, you're not.  I don't switch stick more than once or twice a game, rarely slide protect, never use shotgun, etc...  Yet, I've encountered and stopped all so-called glitches across more than 20 years of Madden using one simple phrase as my guide - Get the right players to the right place at the right time.  

I've had enough tools every years since Madden 2005.  Think...  Everything they've added since 2005 is GRAVY.  

All that said, it would be a lot easier to take you guys more seriously if you actually told us exactly what it was you had a problem with in the game.  I'm almost certain that if there's a strategic 'depth' issue with anything on the field, you might just not know how to stop something...  But if you're upset the uniform doesn't have the right patch - I'm gonna wonder what camera angle you're playing on that patches matter?

It would be nice to know what the actual complaint is.

If you haven't read my last message, this one extends that one.  I disagree with you, but need some clarification about your opinion before I elaborate.

What part of football isn't represented in Madden?  

Why can't we play defense?

Why isn't the run game viable?
