100%, it really sucks missing so much, even in CFB... the customization was pretty restrictive last year but this year is even worse, cant change positions on generated players (unless its the 1 week in dynasty to change positions) but u cant do that for every team, cant change #s, would like to see create a player in there too. building up players in CFB dynasty and transferring them into Madden like the good ole days would be AMAZING... personally im not a MUT players, I dont play online... I love playing dynasty/franchise... creating my own players and teams however I want and just having fun... when these things regress every year, dont improve, etc at what point do I just say hey buying these isnt worth it for me anymore because the things I like to play haven't changed or have gotten worse... Every year when I launch a new Madden and see the same generic faces it makes me want to delete it and never play it again honestly.... Even if we cant transfer from CFB to Madden at least having the same generic faces all around gives people the ability to build those players in Madden if we wanted to. I am not a huge basketball fan but the customization NBA2k has is superior and should be where Madden is at after being around for so many years.
I just got over my 10hr trial of Madden and at this point I just dont see myself buying it. The X community has been huge with customization and to really not see any changes or response is really defeating.
xPats4Lifex I hear you. It can be tough when the features that matter most to you, like customization, player creation, and the depth of Dynasty or Franchise, do not see the improvements you were hoping for. They are some of the most popular modes. A lot of players feel the same way about wanting more control over positions, numbers, and the ability to make their team feel unique. I read it almost daily. You are right that older games with importing from CFB into Madden made building a connected experience feel special, and I get why that is something you would want to see return. It's a comfort thing for gamers. It is an addition to something we all look forward to.
What you said about the 10-hour trial stands out because it relates to purchases. Let's put making an actual purchase aside. Since that was your first run with Madden this year, was there any part of the game that surprised you in a good way, even if customization fell short? Or did the lack of improvements in the areas you care about outweigh everything else right from the start? When you think about skipping the next game in the series, what changes would be the minimum needed for you to feel it was worth picking up again?
I know customization means different things to different players, so I would be interested to hear what the rest of the community thinks would make it feel worthwhile, too.

i liked superstar mode a little but but not enough to spend my money on it... i feel like it lacks a ton of depth or realism... again id compare it to NBA2k, I am not a huge basketball fan but playing myCareer or franchise on that game has so much depth, authenticity, immersion that i find myself spending hours playing... players really get brought to life in that game. Madden looks like 2k's myCareer in 2012... Again the customization in superstar is ok but when no other players have things like tattoos and the custom thigh pads etc, it kind of kills the look. I guess I was surprised but expected to see minor changes to Madden and CFB. When I first launch CFB or Madden I go to create a player and franchise modes... Not seeing improvements to customization when thats all I want to play outweighs any changes in my eyes.
For me to pick up Madden again or CFB next year a lot of changes to customization need to be added before I consider buying any of the two games again. I did purchase CFB this year but not something I would buy next year.
- Equipment needs to be the same in both games both games have things that arent in the other like knee braces in CFB
- New equipment like custom thigh pads should be in all game modes
- The vast amount of missing equipment needs to be added such as.... sleeve/tape combo, multiple sleeve on one arm, tattoos, colored visors, q collars, turtlenecks, one leg sleeves, handwarmers in jerseys, skull caps, cold sleeve temp or cold weather customization, multiple arm bands, etc. the list goes on and on
- Madden should scrap the generic faces they have been using as they look awful and outdated, and many dont even properly fit in the helmets. Madden needs to add the CFB faces
- Importing CFB recruits into Madden
- Create a player in CFB
- Would be nice to see real players on sidelines and not tons of botched generic players
The main thing being new generic faces in Madden and a huge equipment haul would be the only thing that would make me get the game again. Until then I just cant justify it. When my favorite things to do are play franchise and make draft classes after 10 years of it being the exact same I no longer see the point of spending my money.
