Wear and tear superstar mode

Why can’t I turn off wear and tear in superstar mode? I have my setting switched to off and have the right sliders adjusted and it still doesn’t work. I’m 6 games into season and my RB is -15 speed, -10 change of direction, -12 break tackle and gets caught from behind by d line… like what!? MUST HAVE OPTION TO TURN OFF WEAR AND TEAR ON SUPER STAT MODE.
