Draft Picks Disappearing.

So in an online franchise as the Eagles...went thru several seasons and discovered in 2027 that I had 0 2029 picks..never traded them away just they were gone...non existent. Is this going to be an issue going forward? I have my 2030-31 picks just 0 2029 picks.
