Madden Crash - Online H2H Unranked

I rarely ever play unranked, but I have a friend I caught up with recently and we wanted to play a game.  He told me he hadn't played much because his Madden was giving him trouble and that he hadn't been able to play any games online.  That day, we were able to play and it came down to the last snap.  We vowed to play again when he went on vacation.  

Vacation Day 2:  Tuesday, we connected again to talk about custom playbooks for a new podcast on a new YouTube channel called "One Knee = Two Feet" Episodes 1-3 are out.  New episodes Tuesday @ 6PM EST.  https://www.youtube.com/@maddenuniversity-com.   I watched him as he built his playbook, selected formations, we talked about all manner of Madden related things related to playing online.  

When we went into a game, both our Maddens crashed.  We tried multiple times, I personally sent at least 3 error reports, etc...  We both rebooted.  Same result.  I got into a ranked game successfully, but he couldn't.  I told him to Delete Madden and reinstall it from the PlayStation Store.  He did.  No joy.  

It's Day 6 of his vacation and we still can't play.  

HELP!  We don't have many days left.
