Can there be a Class action lawsuit ?

Figured I start here. Been looking for ways to get justification for players who have dealt with the server issues. Asking if there is anyone out in the universe that can find a way to settle the score with EA putting out horrible products and charging obscene amounts of money for it.

The current MUT situation has a lot of people unable to access purchases. Unable to participate in time limited events. A lot of activities on MUT, the marketllave for example, is time dependent like the auctions. I am sure there are those attempting to trade cards for coins and are missing opportunities to capitalize on them due to servers crashing the game. Also, how dependant is the randomizations of packs on the servers and are they properly in line? How can anyone determine that without it being a full blown lawsuit and court drama?

Is there any way out there to finally send a message to EA that says people are tired of paying for a product that continues to be faulty and just keeps getting worse. I myself am fed up, I didn't spend hundreds but enough to say I am not getting what I paid for.

  • While I'm sure its technically possible to sue EA since its a live service game company the main issue would be the Terms of Service you agree to when you sign up / make an account I'm certain the billion dollar company has a clause to limit liability for downtime. So basically any lawyer that would take the case already would know this. Honestly I feel the best thing you can do as a consumer is just not play the game (I still play since its the only football game) or just not spend any money on micro transactions. Also when competitors do eventually come to the market in some shape or form support them. Axis and Maxiuim football are not great but some day someone will come to take the market space, for now all you can do is complain and not give the company any money

I do see where you're coming from and you are very correct. I stepped away from Madden for over ten years, came back a month ago and found MUT fun again until now. After reading about the issues that have been going on for years I can't believe they are still getting away with this. This game is nearly 100% dependant on the Internet and servers just to play. Wether you buy a disc or not playing 80% of this game requires access to the servers. No where have I read that EA has been held accountable for lost transactions or downtime while still accepting transactions.

One problem can be aimed at the streamers. How? Simply put, some get reimbursed by EA and sponsors to help generate views and revenue. Myself, I don't watch streamers so they don't get views from their sponsors from me, but for the masses that watch in the background while doing something else, they generate traffic and sponsors pay. So in theory one way to hit their wallets as well is to stop watching streamers of EA Madden and as the counts go down the influencers will move on to another game to generate income.
