Need to push buttons more than once?

Is it normal that say 25-35% of the time I need to push a button 2-3 times before there is any response? This is both in game and when simply navigating through MUT. Is there a work around?

If this is normal I don’t know how y’all tolerate this. Gaming in the 90’s was more responsive and smooth than that.
