Just tested it. Still the same old problems.
It's early January, so it would be great to get confirmation from EA that this patch did not (or did?) address this issue, and that they still hope to fix it (or not).

The update notes can be found here. The team was unable to make any specific changes to PC performance per this update, but still has this on their radar for a future update.
"still has this on their radar for a future update."
when? for next year?we bought the game in early july, we expected to play the game last year! nfl season is almost over you bunch of scammers
EA_Blueberry: Removed ALL CAPS- @EA_Blueberry In case you haven't been keeping up on current events, the NFL season is nearly over. This product was left in a demonstrably broken state on the most common CPUs used for gaming PC builds over the last 10 years for the entire effective life of the product.
Totally cool. So what do you expect us to do? This quickly went from an "I want to help you ASAP!" situation to a "This probably won't get fixed, but if a fix presents itself we'll do it" situation. I don't understand how EA has somehow given up a major issue. What do you suggest we do? Thank you in advance, I hope you can respond to this understanding that we just want to play this game without workarounds or computer setting changes.
This is really horrendous. I've bought the game just recently and can't play because of all the stuttering, freezes and lagging sound. It was foolish of me to believe that EA had a reasonable refund policy. It seems that now I'm stuck with this brown delicacy and can't refund it, alas
I think it’s about time we all agreed that EA never had any intention of fixing this. They knew they wouldn’t lose any money by leaving it the way it is because we already bought the game. Their absurd refund policy prevents us from being able to do anything about it because they led us on until the warranty period was LONG over. They didn’t stand to lose much in their “Ultimate Moneymaker” because the pc pool is so small compared to console. Simply put, EA made a business decision months ago and buried this then. It’s quite impossible to think a company of that size couldn’t fix this by now. EA has been selling flawed product for years, hopefully one day it’ll catch up to them.

I believe this is accurate. If you look at Red Dead 2, I believe they encountered the exact same problem (inexplicable stuttering that seemed to hit 4 core CPUs specifically). Only difference is Rockstar released a temp workaround within a week and a real fix within a month, as opposed to EA that just lied about looking into it for entire life of the product.
Can't believe i started this thread on the "early" release day back in July and theres still no real fix or even improvement, i mean yea sure some players have found workarounds that may or may not work but nothing official has been done. The only reason i can play now is because i wound up needing a new pc for different reasons but even now with a high dollar high spec build i still get some audio/video stuttering. In my opinion you guys just need to admit its an issue thats just maybe too much to patch or just not worth the effort in your opinion and hopefully fix it in Madden 21. i really love Madden being back on PC but if for a large amount of people its totally/borderline unplayable whats the point....
Last game of the season is in 2 weeks. Praying they fix issue before the end of the season.lol
Nothing will happen. I really was so happy, when madden came back to PC, but it all went down to nothing more than disappointment.
Access subscription is cancelled for the next possible date.
Never again EA. Plain and simple disappointment. Every 2 man indie developer is quicker than you.
Unfortunately its the only option, and they know it.
Hi, my name is Tom. I've been on holiday for more than a week now and I haven't been able to play a decent game of Madden 20 yet. I was playing a game against the Titans the other day, but I lost badly because of the many hiccups. Anyway, I was hoping I could play the game before the Superbowl, because I'm looking to redeem myself against those bloody Titans and still find a way to play the Superbowl this year, just like I did these last few years. My friend Bill told me my quad core CPU might be the problem. So naturally, I wanted to buy a new PC, but my wife Giselle won't let me, so I'm really counting on you to save me, EA.
Probably the last patch before the last game of the NFLseason dropped today and no mention of this issue being addressed in the patch notes.. I have not tested it yet
