Re: Why is the CPU so unrealistic?

This is my biggest issue with Madden. The CPU defense plays vastly different than the user AI defenders.  User AI defenders leave receivers open all the time.  They never cover slants, they stand behind CPU WRs on curls and never make a break for the ball.  They always wait for CPU offensive players to come to them.  They frequently lose tackle battles.  It's virtually impossible to break up passes.  CPU WRs will always win 50/50 balls thrown to them.  It's terribly unrealistic and actually ruins any fun from the game.

My only semi work-around that I've discovered is this.  You need to pick a play where one of your LBs or DBs blitz.  You need to user control the blitzer and instead of blitzing, you need to control him in coverage in the middle of the field and try to take away any slant or crossing route.

Granted, this shouldn't have to be the case to make the game work, but unfortunately it is.  And even then, when the QB throws the ball away, they're never called for intentional grounding, lol. Pass defense is completely broken in this game.
