The file cannot load because it's incompatible with this version of the game

Madden 15 on the PS4.  Trying to resume offline connected franchise.  When trying to resume I get:  "The file cannot load because it's incompatible with this version of the game".  Already contacted...

It's not an ideal fix, but below is a workaround that "fixed" my offline saved game file after I got the error. The problem is you won't get roster updates.
1. Under the Customize tab, go to Manage Files and delete your saved Roster files.
2. Quit the game and start it again.
3. When it prompts you to download the latest roster, decline.
