Oops... unknown error with google play account, I've tried everything.
As the title suggests, I am getting the "oops.. unknown error. sorry, something unexpected went wrong. please try again." When I try to login to my google play linked account on my android phone.
I was in the middle of bidding on multiple cards on the AH and the game froze up showing the spinning white loading wheel and then kicked me out of the game. I reloaded the game and have been greeted with this message ever since. I have tried the following
- Cleared MM app cache and data, issue still occurs.
- uninstalled MM and rebooted my phone and tried again, still happens.
- installed the game on an entirely different android phone, issue still occurs on that phone.
- I am able to login to another account on either phone fine, just not my main one.
- I've also disabled "google play games" app and tried to just launch my account as the guest and the issue still occurs.(originally setup as guest account then linked to google play, I can select either one when trying to login)
- I don't have hundreds of inbox messages, I could have 10-20 since I was in the middle of multiple bidding wars before I got kicked.
I opened a case yesterday and had them call me. after explaining the issue i was able to verify everything on my account (except uid since i cannot load the game to check my uid) they told me to wait 2-3 hours and try to login. I waited and still got the same issue. I updated my ticket with the info and now they said to contact google in order to retrieve my account, but I don't need to retrieve my account, I have it already.
I think I need something fixed on the account so the game will actually launch it again. I feel like I might have locked my account out or something because I was bidding so often across multiple cards.
Anyone have any ideas? I will NOT be starting over from scratch with this game. It is way too grindy to do it all over again. Besides, I have no guarantee this issue won't occur again later on a new account.
Quick update.
I haven't heard back from ea in weeks, my ticket it still open. After today's update, I was able to finally access my account again! I don't know if anyone actually fixed anything, or if the update just wiped out whatever caused my login issue. I'd try again if I were any of you with the same error, you may get lucky as well.
