In single player, I think they shouldn't stop at 4 and instead go back up to 6 slots. I still don't understand why they changed the working skill balance they had in ME3....only reason I can figure is they wanted "change" and didn't want the label of Mass Effect 3.5 or something.....It worked and was fun, add the favorites and don't allow mixing between classes but allow changing of classes with a cooldown.
By this I mean, you can use 6 skills, and up to four classes with associated skills. Then you could change up like Alec Ryder does with appropriate cooldowns between classes. By this I mean, you want Vanguard, fine you get Charge, nova, maybe lance, shockwave, throw, maybe something like turbocharge, or put ammo powers back into skills.....When you desire a change you swap over to say Infiltrator, and you get cloak, incinerate, flamethrower, coldray, turret, hacking, ammo power and maybe the barricade skill. The one thing you can't do is then mix Charge with cloak, keeping the classes different with mass effect feel, but still allowing you to adapt to the changing needs.
But hey, what do I know, I just fix cars for a living....
