So, I just started playing Mass Effect 2 in the Legendary Edition, I played the trilogy before and I just came across a bug that is bothering me. The beard my character has in the first game isnt visible in the second game. I went back to try and see what could be causing this and I found out that beards in Mass Effect 2 now are sensitive to the color of your characters skin, like the only way its visible right now is if I use the darkest skin tone for my character. I was wondering if there is any way to fix this bug or if a patch is being worked on to fix it, as I remember the beards being way more visible in the original version of Mass Effect 2.

I had a similar problem where my Shepard imported from ME1 had his dark, salt-and-pepper beard morph into a pure silver beard that didn't match his hair. It looked bad. Importing the same character into ME3 reverted it to the way it looked in ME1. I can only surmise that they changed the character models/creator in ME1 to match ME3, but left ME2 alone. Which means that ME2 has a bit worse looking character models than either 1 or 3, and certain features don't quite translate properly on import. It does seem a bit lazy, if t hat's the case. ME2 is a pretty old game and all 3 should obviously be using identical models and graphical features for Shepard.

I really do hope that an update can fix this problem

@pALUCARDq Also having this issue. My ME1 character has a rough beard. My ME2 character has what looks like the stubble of a 14 year old trying to grown facial hair for the first time. Then it's back to rough stubble for ME3.

Yeah this needs to get fixed, it wasn't like this in the original version of Mass Effect 2

I admittedly worked out a headcannon for myself to make it work. Such as facial hair follicles haven't fully stimulated from facial reconstruction. But still this should be addressed.
