After getting Sarren down to 50% health on Virmire, after the cut scene of picking the person at the bomb up, the game cuts to black and nothing further happens visually. You can hear the characters and can move them about/fire your gun. But no further cutscene plays, and you are unable to progress.
Platform is Series X, and I have reinstalled the game three times, and beaten the fight four times now, same issue everytime. Just want to play through. ☹️
Getting a bit frustrating doing it over and over again on Insanity for it to black screen again .

I hope they recognise it as a bug soon, I've reported it directly on Twitter, but it doesn't seem like enough people have done yet.
MAN WHAT GIVES??? I'e been able to reproduce the same issue, no matter what level of difficulty the game is set to. TOTALLY FRUSTRATING...black screen as soon as Shep does the fireman carry of an Alliance soldier, the cust scene begins to load and the screen goes black!!! I can hear Wrex, and movement, but cannot see anything and cannot progress. The sae feature is blocked out during the fight with Sren, so you cannot even save the hard-fought progress.
BioWare, you've GOTTA DEAL WITH THIS, please!!!!! Totally frustrting...
Same description as you, however, i'm not experiencing it at Virmire, but on the final battle with him on the citadel.
But except the location, the issue is basically the same. fight, and as soon as first cutscene is done, it stops, and the game get unresponsive.
@EA_Atic any idea if the team are working on this for the next patch? I literally can't play anymore. ☹️
A work around is to pick the other person to save that isn't at the bomb. Yeah, not ideal, but that is one work around.
Personally, I always choose to go to the gun tower, simply to save the Salarians.
