Black screen

So I have been playing Legendary Edition on Steam since it came out. Finally got to the Final part of ME3. I launch the mission to go after Illusive man, enter the relationship scene, chase the kid, talk to romance partner again, then Black screen. I tried reloading an earlier save...black screen. I verified all files were up to date....black screen. I uninstalled and reinstalled...black screen. I have played this entire game with no game breaking bugs or load screens, up until this one point. That tells me it isnt a graphic card issue, its not a computer or compatibility issue.

Does anyone know of a work around? This is the exact same issue I had on ME3 on Origin back in the day which is why I primarily wanted to play this on Steam...wouldn't you believe it? still forced to use Origin and experiencing same issue at the same spot. Seams a bit suspicious to me. Kinda want to finish the game...
