This mission can currently be completed as it is, the bug is just kind of weird and funny. The heavy mech for the entirety of the mission except for the very end stays facing the wrong direction. It was walking to it's destination sideways sometimes and sometimes backwards, it even went around in a circle one time on one branch of the path where there's a small rocky ledge.

What is interesting is that this isn't a legacy bug. Just replayed this mission three times to examine it. The mech appears to be focused on, or targeting, a singular point. I followed the mech’s point of view, and it only deviates from that point when the script tells it to shoot up the canyon wall the second time. That singular point is the same point in three dimensional space that it shoots to destroy the first rock wall.My guess is that the scripting uses a “pseudo target” to aim the mech for the first rock wall, and this target isn’t properly being destroyed, despawned, reassigned, etc, after the first rock wall is destroyed. Thus, the mech remains focused on the first rock wall until told otherwise (focus on the second rock wall)

@draconiam Not likely. It’s more likely an error that popped up as an unexpected result of the fact that they upgraded the UE3 engine in the game. Sort of like how sometimes when you upgrade Windows, occasionally you get things that suddenly don’t work properly, because a subroutine the app used handles things differently. If this were a trilogy wide error, any cutscene that also uses the ghost or pseudo target would be malfunctioning in exactly the same way.I think it’s just a problem with this script and despawning or destroying the individual pseudo target.Of course, I don’t have the source code, so all this is purely speculation, and only based upon observations.

Yea, it's by no means a priority since the mission can still be completed, it's just an oddity and minor bug, just throwing the info out there so it will maybe get fixed eventually.

Xbox One, same issue. It walked normally at first, but after breaking through the first wall it rotated away and essentially moonwalked / strafed through the rest of the mission at this fixed rotation. It eventually rotated to face forward again to face the final wall it has to break through.

Hello all! I’m currently playing through mass effect 2 legendary edition and I’m on the mission mining the canyon. When the mech shoots the first wall he keeps shooting it and faces it when he walks by. This continues and wears the first power cell down immediately. That means the mech can’t make it to the end on 3 power cells. Any way to fix this? It makes the mission impossible to complete 😦

@DuncanPassell The mech stops at pre determined spots, you can still complete it. The power cells are just there for "immersion".

@Coldgrin you can still finish the mission, the Mech walks weird and funny but when it starts to shoot it will clear the way even like that, i did it 2 time, on PC windows 10 64 bit

Yep,I am on this mission right now.(On Xbox One X.) The mech is walking sideways and backwards while fire randomly at nothing.
