Can't reinstall the game after the game wouldn't launch

So I just installed the new EA App and despite several attempts to get the game to launch (like so many other people with their games), I ended up just reinstalling both the EA App client and the game.  Now I repeatedly keep getting a download error even after I tried the fixes here:  https://help.ea.com/in/help/ea/ea-app/game-download-install-load-troubleshoot/

Andromeda still launches just fine, but these are the only two games I have on this platform.  I'm about at my wit's end over here.

We are talking MELE, not the Original games?
If I get this right EA app is installed but the game is not?

In EA app > Click on the 3 lines in the top left corner > Help > App recovery > Clear cache > Test.

  • Correct, the EA App is installed and Mass Effect Legendary Edition is not.  I've actually tried doing app recovery several times along with many other solutions.  I learned I could download other games that I found that were free, like Apex Legends.  I think there is an issue with the licensing involving games for myself and many other folks after this migration over to the EA App.  I found this in an error log:  (eax::ui::GamesManagerProxy::getGameStatusV2) Found no offer id matching 'Origin.OFR.50.0002694' in entitlement list.  I attached my own error log in this reply in case someone with more insight could look at it.

I've read around on the forums that an EA technician might just have to remove the game from my account and then re-add it.  The EA person I chatted with last night didn't seem to agree (I don't know if he had the authority to do this anyway), but he has reported my issue to the technician team.

This person here couldn't install Battlefield 2042 and got the issue solved by simply having the game reapplied to his account and he talks about the error logs found:  https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports-Technical-Issues/There-s-a-problem-with-your-download-Something-went-wrong-during/td-p/11952304/page/3

@Weughmaster_Roy Hey, I believe that offer ID is for Apex Legends, so shouldn't be relevant to this case. Though I would be curious if you can install Apex.
What seems to be more relevant is a message that "Zip IO could not obtain extended central directory buffer" before getting MELE to try the install later. It shows up a couple of times. Now I'm no expert on Logs but it sounds like something local blocking EA app from writing/seeing where to write.

You mention the standard TS like Admin mode and lowering UAC so I'll assume they've been tried, but you could double check for any software that might be blocking/protecting your target install drive, such as 3rd party security software.

Another thing to check for would be to try an alternate user account as a test: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile-in-windows-1cf41c18-7ce3-12f9-8e1d-95896661c5c9

I'm also redownloading my MELE now to see how my logs differ.
