I agree. Back then, actually I couldn't really find we could anything too good-looking, always felt like an average-looking. The ugly were ugly, sometimes slightly alien.
But in MEA, you can produce clows, joking material. You can make something down the lane of ugliness that hits the bottom, cracks it, slaps the face of Earth's core and spats in her mouth. However, you cannot do anything on the opposite lane of despair, gorgeous or anything, because someone in there thinks that being beautiful is not allowed.

No, this isn't true. With a bit of tweaking you can make pretty or handsome faces. But there are a lot more choices for *normal* people.

He's not all wrong you know. Yes, it is possible to create some nice looking faces but it does take rather a bit of tweaking and it can be a real pain to get it right only to find after starting the game that it's not exactly as you wanted it cause it never quite looks in the CC like it will be in the actual game.
The starting faces are just freaky looking for the most part and you do have a lot of options to make them look like total freaks. Don't get me wrong, I like options and I fully ok with not everyone wanting to have perfect looking characters, but at the same time it is a fantasy game and I really have no reason to believe that the current CC is making lots of people happy. Where are the options to change the nose shape? Where are the options to change the skin complexity?
And really, does my Ryder have to look like she's 70 years old because of exaggerated wrinkles left and right? If you want the wrinkles then let it be a choice. I don't mind if people want to create average or ugly looking characters but even if you take the time and find something that looks pretty good, you'll still end up looking horrible half the time in the game because of the horrible lighting and animations.
Now just to get it clear. Do you really think that this was a good idea?

The left was Ryder just before release and on the right it's her after the release. Can you explain to me why anyone would think that's the way to go?

Looks like they were influenced by Overwatch there.

Well, that game is a lot more cartoony and looking at the result, I still don't see how anyone would think this was a good idea.
- 9 years agoSome people love it. I despise the look of DBZ and WoW, but some like then a lot.

It just baffles me really.

The one on the left is an adult, and the one on the right is just glowing with a kid sister vibe. 'Nuff said.

I don't want you to be right, but sadly you may very well be.
