Character Editor in ME 1 different to the editors of the other games
In the character editor of ME 1 I can select "Scars" for Shepard.
In the Editors of ME 2 and 3 no scars are available.

My understanding is that the scars interfere with the paragon/renegade mechanic that also cause scars as a result of the Lazarus Project.
It is a known thing.
