I've had this in ME1 and ME2 so far. Seems to be after I snap from cover. In one occurrence, I could move but I couldn't fire (I had to reload the save). In ME2, I just tried going into the menu, codex, and exiting. That released the character control.
Default settings.
Thanks, everyone for sharing this information with me, I have shared this with our team to be further investigated.
For now, if you run into it, a quick save and reload should remove it in order to keep playing, however, once updates come out be sure to grab them and see if or how often this may continue to happen.
I will leave a link to Bioware's news and update page to make it a bit easier to check on any changes.
Thanks!
- 5 years ago@EA_Illium it's not related to enemies still alive in area's, i got it at random everywhere in ME1LE and ME2LE, although less in 2.
I also got the same problem teporarily with not being able to fire my gun for a short while. Feels like the same kind of bug actually as the stuck direction/ not being able to aim bug.
It's randomly messing up the mouse controls for a short while, sometimes it's movement, sometimes it's unable to fire.
If it's movement, i can still fire, and vice versa.
The game seems to lose control of a part of the mouse.
But, it happens with the keyboard too, it also sometimes get unresponsive for like 20 seconds and then start working again.
The older versions of Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 never had any bug with me, the Legendary Edition is riddled with bugs for me, crashes, control freezes, suddenly temporarily vanishing/teleporting NPC's.
It's obvious that it has something to do with porting the old code to the newer Unreal engine, probably some deprecated script commands that need to be corrected. Tell the devs to search for it in the controllers code.- 5 years ago
@EA_Illium After playing some more i got the feeling that it is a error in the inertia code when turning the character around, that seems to get stuck at times and then unstuck after a short while again, it happens randomly.

Not sure if its just old game design but my controls are clunky as well.

I've been encountering this on Xbox One in both ME1 and ME2. Here's a video of what it looks like
Bug begins at ~18 seconds in (beginning left in for context), and resolves by itself at the end of the video

Yep, that's the bug alright, it happens in ME1LE and in ME2LE, havent't reached 3 yet, but i'm guessing it could be in 3 too.
I actually reinstalled the old ME2 and play that now, cause it happened more often lately, and i got extremely tired of dying from it in the middle of combat.
