"Convert to Omni-Gel" instead converst to money

Just installed ME1 and patched to 1.02, along with the two DLC.

Whenever I "convert to omni-gel" or click "Omni-gel" in the equipment menu with an item selected, the item(s) get converted to cash. I never get omni-gel. I can't find any solutions online, or even the same problem. Does anyone know of a possible fix to this?

On a side note, I have not modified the game and its files in any way other than disabling motion blur.

EDIT: I've also just noticed picking up gel's from medical kits also do not add to my current count (at the moment is 4), the message appears though that I have picked it up.

    Do you have this with all your characters or only with one?

    Thanks for responding. It was happening with all characters. After literally a day of searching, I finally stumbled on something after pages of Google, which I added to BIOgame.cfg I believe. What it was, I can't remember, but it fixed the problem--so I can refill as I need.

    So the thread can be closed if need be.
