crashing at elevator on Virmire

So I have been playing countless hours on mass effect without any issues or problems it's stable and smooth.

Can even tab out and have it running in background for quite sometime without crashes or issues.

But now I have run into a mystic issue and not sure what to do or how to solve it.

In an elevator on Virmire where I just took down a turret it crash when I step inside, with the message:

BioPawn_6 collisioncomponent CylinderComponent_351 not initialized deleteme 0

I tried to search my computer for BioPawn_6 and didn't find it.

I have pinnacle and bring down the sky installed.

As well as patch 1.02

System specs:

OS: windows 8 64bit

CPU: Amd phenom II x4 945, 3.25Ghz

Ram: 8GB

GPU:  Nvidia GTX 680, 2GB ram

Any insight is welcome!

hi, sorry to revive an ancient post. I just made an account here to thank you. Going into the elevator with no weapons drawn worked!

@wurzelstilzkin Thanks for the post. As you say it's an old one, but we have no problem with "necro" posts as long as they add something helpful.

    Cheers!

  • I know this topic is quite old, but just in case. Maybe someone is still playing and gets the same bug, as did i.

In order to fix it i had to save and reload the game after defeating the enemies in the elevator (The Elevator door may take a moment to open again).

Hi I'd like to give this a bump if I could please, even possibly moved to the Mass Effect forum, I've had the exact same issue.

Is it possible to repair the game via disc?  Or if a total wipe needed?  Won't I lose my DLC if I do that?

If you installed from Origin try to repair your install by right-clicking on the icon in Origin and choosing "Repair Install". If not de-install your game and re-install it. (Don't forget to make a save copy of your game save.)

The error message suggests that something with a world geometry file went wrong and the fact that the game crashes on the elevator makes me think that the installation of that file / geometry component went wrong and got corrupted.
