Crashing to desktop when opening door in Grissom Academy atrium.

So I've basically spent the entire day trying to get through this one door. It's the door that leads you out of the atrium right after the infamous battle with the Atlas mech and hordes of soldiers and engineers. I get past the battle fine, but when I try to open that door, the green hologram starts the little animation and about 2 seconds in crashes the game. Every time. I've tried lowering my resolution, going into windowed mode, turning off AA and Dynamic Shadows (possible solutions I've seen when looking up door-related crashes.) I've repaired the game and it still doesn't work. It crashes, every time. I have mods installed (all single player, mostly aesthetic) but I went without them when I repaired the game, didn't change anything. I really don't want to reinstall because I have a texture mod that took me an entire day to install, and something tells me that wouldn't fix it either. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I've also tried restarting the mission. No luck, same problem.

That could be a problem if the save game itself is corrupt. Then you have to start all over.

Good thinking here, don't forget that you need the binkw23.dlls for the DLC check after the re-installation.

Did you tried another save game, one that is older as the save game you're using right now? (It should also be a save game that is made before the Grissom Academy mission starts)

    Is that the ALOT Mod?

I am a little confused here because if you repair the Game all installed mode files will be replaced by the ME3 standard files as long as it's not a Mod in DLC form. So if you repaired the game the mode you installed should be already gone.

If you install a mode with ME3 Explorer then all the files go into the  "Mass Effect 3\BIOGame" folder and here in particular in the "CookedPCConsole" folder and the "DLC" folder.

So, by making a back up of the ""CookedPCConsole" folder, the "DLC" folder plus the "PCConsoleTOC.bin" and the "PCConsoleTOC.txt" after you installed a mod you can always get a Mod back in a matter of minutes by just replacing the original folders and files with the backups.

Yes, it's the ALOT mod. The reason it's not already gone is because I knew repairing the game would get rid of it so I backed up my Mass Effect 3. When I repaired the game I tried getting through the door without getting the mod back first to see if that was the cause of it, it wasn't. I don't know how I thought of that and didn't realize I could do the same for reinstallation, though I wasn't aware of what specific folders and files I'd need to backup, thanks. Here's hoping it works this time.

I guess reinstalling DOES fix it. Though I somehow doubt the results would have been as successful were it not for your tips on backing up specific files. Thanks so much! Now to actually play the game again!
