I like many of the ideas in this thread, and overall the conversations could use a little more emotion for both Ryder and who ever he's talking to, whether it be romantic or otherwise. It would be interesting to see someone else flirt with Ryder and how he/she reacts to it. The more emotion you and others have, the more developed the personalities become, the better the suspension of belief we feel in becoming part of a world, and less like playing a game.
There is an older rpg called Alpha Protocol that had a unique approach to conversations, in that you had a certain amount of time to select your tone/response. You, your character, had to think, and think quickly. This wouldn't work in all conversations in MEA, but I think it would be interesting (fun) to see in certain situations. I know there is a system in place (can't remember the term), where you have a short period of time to click the mouse button (PC) for a reactive response. It was also in the original trilogy where you could click for a paragon or renegade response. So far in my first 126 hrs of playing, I've only seen this option once. This option could also be expanded to happen more often.

Yeah, timed events are very scarce. Some of them are very useless as well, just a flourish of something. I was proposing that confrontations through dialog could be triggered like that, not really initially designed on the dialog options. Mostly because I would consider confrontations coming from something you are sure about, compelled, so it requires a fast reaction. The other answer, though, would not.

I do miss all those paragon/renegade interrupts/impulse moves. They let you do so much fun stuff in ME2/3

They need to slow them down just a touch as well - now that they arent clear renegade / paragon interrupts you have to take a moment to read and digest the text to figure out if its something your char would even do or not and by then the moment has passed !I get its supposed to be a quick thing but its still an rpg and the player needs a moment to read / understand what they are reading 🤔🤔🤔
