LOL, I know it could be too soon... but still.. I was wondering what would majority of people would like better? A DLC to current game or rather the next Andromeda? Considering:
ME:1 2007.... ME:2 2010.... ME:3 2012.... ME:A 2017 looong time 🙂 I don't dare guess how long for ME:A 2 release
But now that all complaints were out, finally people starting to chill about it ... i would think Andromeda 2 would be a game to top the previous.
Soooo i'd vote for developing ME:A2 rather than a few hour DLC.
The time frame between ME3 and MEA was for two main reasons....
1) Swap over to Frostbite engine.
2) World build a new game and galaxy to inhabit.
They have most of the new world basics built, and they have better understanding of Frostbite, so I could see a 3-4 year development for MEA2, and thus a few good DLC before hand to help tide us over. And why 2-4 years, well anything less than 2 and you risk a really really rushed world and product, so I would rather see close to 4 on a new ME. Look at the issues with DA2 if you want to see what a 2 year release does for you.
Definitely both, but considering how long it would take for a sequel to come out and all of the juicy plots that remain unfinished, I NEED some DLC. If I have to wait like 3 or 4 years to find out who killed Jien Garson or whats up with the Quarian ark I am going to go insane. When it comes to the questions surrounding the scourge, the Jardaan and the Kett, I think I can wait for a sequel but those other two stories are just too good and I feel they should be told with some DLC.
I'm not a fan of DLC being released so close to the game release. Let them fix this the original content of the game. If they have DLC already, that means they were spending time working on that instead of the base game. If they're going to release it soon, they should've just added it into the game. DLC should be used to add some freshness.

Agreed, but usually DLCs are additional content/ story/ mission and not a resolve/ conclusion to the main story events, otherwise it would break main events into pieces released at certain interval. Any previous DLCs released had an extra mission. So idk, depends on how they decide.
i have to admit, i too would be a bit cross if i had to wait 4 years to find out what happened to the quarian ark, or who killed garson and specifically why (well maybe not the why bit).
so i say both... yes, i want my cake & to eat it too.

Well, we got all the other Arks except the Quarian (maybe Geth sent out one too, hidden...in space... unknown location... stealthed ... sneaking up on us... what are we up too... what are the Kett up too...LOL)
But the thing is all Ark missions have the same pattern:
- Find it
- Get on board
- Deal with whatever is there
- Get the Ark out of there to safety, save Ark, the people or the Pathfinder.
That's it.
I doubt the Quarian Ark will have anything else special to do with it (like the other Arks we played), except find it, then saving it. Or Not 🙂 It will still be repetitive. Maybe it will fit better in the next game, ..keep the tension up for players ... hehe I don't know, up to them

Option 3: the Yahg Shadow Broker secretly got some Yahg transported on the Quarian ark. At the same Baby Thorian got itself and a bunch of thralls and clones secretly transported on the Quarian ark, and the two groups are battling for control, while Kal'Reegar's twin, the Hanar who inspired Blasto, and a biotic god/vanguard Volus try to protect the other passengers.
I'm enjoying the game, and some DLC would be great. I hope they continue the series, but don't rush it!! In the mean time, gimme some DLC and reasons to keep trying out new Pathfinders!
It's interesting to think what Andromeda 2 might bring, but it might be a hard game to sell with this one's luke warm reception.
Nevertheless I have grown to love the game and It's kept me busy and happy for weeks. I think it's a case of releasing some bad-* DLC and fixing some of the games problems, making people turn around their negative opinions. This is where something like EA answers is so useful because it allows us to give our feedback and i've seen a lot of instances so far where it's has come into effect!
As far as DLC goes I would love to see some of the unanswered questions get answered, like who the benefactor is?
Also something to do with the Quarian Ark would be Brilliant, I think that one goes without saying. A series of missions about the Jaardan perhaps? It's likely that this stuff might be part of the concept for ME:A 2 though, it's a lot of new species to throw into the game.
Well, if they did such a wonderful job on the ME trilogy, i'm sure they can do it for Andromeda as well, if not better...specially now that players have posted comments and features they want to see. I'm pretty sure they are reading reviews and comments.
Regarding the Benefactor, i would probably let that come in the next game rather than in a short DLC.
All those unanswered questions and open end story facts should be included in the next game to fill it up with content, see the results. It would make it more interesting with series of events as a whole, rather than seeing each unsolved plot being delivered separately in a DLC.
But i'm not saying "No" to either option 🙂
The fact is DLC isn't always terrible, but they would have to spend more time on what they create. I felt there was a lot of influence from the Witcher 3 in this game, from the crafting system to a few of the open world aspects, heck I was surprised there wasn't a card game involved.
It may be possible that they are planning some larger scale expansion style DLC, that comes after the main storyline which could involve an entirely new planet. It's too early to speculate really but if they really have been looking at CD Project Red for inspiration then that's where they might take us.
It would also explain why they might have decided to abandon the season pass, if they are just planning on doing one big DLC expansion, then a pass is unnecessary.
The benefactor, Quarian ark and the Geth would be perfect for DLCs. It was the Geth that explored Andromeda through their FTL telescope so it stands to reason they will have sent an "Ark" of their own.
The Jardaan and a final battle with the Kett there is our ME:A 2.
