"EACoreServer.exe has stopped working"

I purchased Mass Effect 2 for PC Download from Amazon last December and I STILL have not been able to get it to work. Every time I try to run it, I get a misconfiguration error AND a box that says EACoreServer.exe has stopped working. I've tried every single "solution" possible that would get it to work, but after months of trying, IT STILL WON'T WORK! Both ME1 and ME3 work perfectly on my ACER laptop, ME2 is the only one that is giving me all this @#&*)Q&@) trouble! PLEASE, I REALLY would like to have a solution!! If all else fails, I want a refund of the money I wasted with a game that is unplayable. I don't want to go through all that crap, so can anyone HELP?!?!
