Error: Failed to launch game, An error on our end caused the launch to...

I bought ME:LE on steam and played it for about a week. Then a day or two after getting to ME2, one day the game stopped launching and instead reported the error in the title.

When I attempt it in offline mode I get no error, and it fails silently.

The game launcher never starts up. Something stops in steam and I can only suspect it has to do with the EA app. Just an assumption really though.

I have tried every measure I could find. And every suggested steps to correct the problem that EA help could provide. And I have tried many things on my own.

I feel at this point I have tried everything. So I am posting here to preserve the info.

I even went so far as to do a complete format and reinstall of windows. a fresh install of the game, and a freshly downloaded and updated EA app. And the problem persists just as before.

It has been about 10 days now.
