FPS stutter on new gaming laptop.

Hi people.  I'm having a problem I am hoping you guys will be able to help me with.  I have recently gotten an asus RoG G751jt which is much better than my previous laptop that had no problems running ME3.  However, I am getting a short 1/2 to 2 second freeze every 3 or 4 seconds starting from the Push any button screen and continuing on through gameplay.  I have disabled origin in game and removed vsync...I get about 300-450 fps which freezes and fraps shows a drop by half and then continuing back to max.  I am baffled, I removed some Asus software as well.  Thanks to anyone who can help.

  • Yo!

I have found out what is causing the problem, atleast for me:

    AsusGameFirstService.exe

Location by default(?): C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ROG Game First III

Go to task management, services, find this program and disable it.

I hope this works out for everyone 😕mileyvery-happy:

  • AAAH man thank you so much. I couldn't play ME3 since march because of this. Disabled that ROG process * and it works like a charm now. You are the best! Now i can train properly for Andromeda 🥳

I had the same problem but my laptop is a different asus laptop than yours. (X556UB).

I fixed mine by uninstalling all the asus programs that came with the laptop except for asus smart gesture because thats the only one i actually like.

I tried the game, didnt work.

So then i disabled asus smart gesture and tried the game and now it works fine!

dont know why... im not gonna question it.

Might work for some of you.

  • How do you disable it? I can stop it, but I imagine it'll start back up when I next boot up my laptop. Is there a way to permanently disable it?

    @jamezilla

    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and past "msconfig" into the new window > ENTER
    • Go to the "Services" tab > find the service > remove the Checked mark from the checkbox. > click OK.
    • Restart your machine > done.
