Frame Rate Issue ME1 LE
I'm sure there has been a thousand posts about this issue, but every single "possible" solution that can be discovered - I have tried. I've tried solutions from this forum, from Steam, from Reddit, from YouTube...etc. nothing has worked.
Here is my experience:
Game loads up and runs fine at a capped 60fps. After about 5 minutes, the fps completely falls off. As this happens, there is absolutely no change in my GPU or CPU utilization. Strangely, at this point, moving the camera in game, and moving the mouse in menu causes the frames to drop as well. In game or in menu, if I don't move, the frames will tick back up to 60fps, but as soon as I move the camera in game or the mouse in menu it falls. Any of the mouse fixes that are floating around have had no effect, neither does uninstalling any hid compliant devices. No fix I have found has any effect. The same thing happens the same exact way no matter what I try.
I have a relatively decent system with modern hardware that far surpasses this games requirements, and my monitor is definitely plugged into my GPU - I build my own computers, this is a no brainer for me.
I'm posting here hoping maybe that I will read something I haven't tried. Many players are experiencing the same problem without answers as well. I'm in the boat of not being able to refund as I have spent way too much time troubleshooting in game. It's extremely disappointing as a supporter of Bioware and EA (for what it's worth) that this is an issue that has persisted without any response from the developers.
I expected to be able to play this 15 year old upscaled game without issue, but it's the only game I own that is unplayable.
In advance I kindly appreciate any assistance.
For anyone who is interested, this has been "solved" for what it's worth.
I use a Logitech F310 controller to simulate keyboard functions like WASD movement to a joystick. Essentially, I play keyboard and mouse where the F310 technically takes place of the keyboard as far as movement is concerned. In any event, I ran across a post on Reddit regarding using controllers and a user mentioned they were having frame drops and their controller was also acting strange. Apparently, unplugging the USB before launching the game, and then plugging it in once the game has loaded and you're controlling Shepard does the trick - it also did the trick for me.
Either way - this is so stupid. I spend almost 8 hours troubleshooting my issues for "this"....if I weren't so eager to start playing now, I think I would be dead from going hysterical after witnessing such an absolute joke.
Hopefully this helps anyone who doesn't have any hair left to pull out.
