Free Dlc's for the first 2 games? Yes please! But how to get em. Kinda?

Long story short. I got the first 2 games on steam a long time ago and now that i heard you can get the DLC's for free here on origin i jumped on and found the download page, But the thing is i want them to be in my library just like you would have on steam but support said i would have had that if i bought it of origin but not outside like steam.

Fair enough! The thing is i found out that a friend of my has an old code for the trilogy laying around but i am not sure if that would give me the dlc's like it would if i bought it straight out of the origin store?
Would be a waste if it didn't work as i allready have the first 2 games here.

The DLCs of ME1 are free, they are included in the current downloadable versions on Steam and on Origin.

If you have an old Steam installation you can find them here, (I suppose that is the side you already found, but the ME1 DLC will not be in your Library regardless of the client you use.)

If you open the ME2 section of the page linked above you will see two sections, the DLCs under "Cerberus Network Downloads" are free to use.

The DLCs under "DLC" are not free and must be purchased. (Link) (They also wouldn't be in your Game Library but in the "Extra Content" section in Origin.)

  • Would greatly depend on what the codes were for.  Some bundles for the game were for games and all DLC, others were for just the games and you had to buy the dlc.

And no, you can't get the dlc for free without some sort of bundle purchase of the games or some such.  There is a site listed on EA help side that allows you to DOWNLOAD the dlc you have already purchased for "legacy" games since they have shut down the original download site.  So you have to download these DLC, and then log into the ingame authorization center to get them to work.  For ME2 that is the Cerebrus network computer and your EA/Bioware account that has the DLC unlocked on it.

Now if you are using the same account for old Bioware and new Origin/EA and haven't created a different EA account, then once you unlock the games on Origin, then it will automatically unlock all the DLC on Origin, which is what my system did.

So as far as being worth it....crap shoot without more info...if you are talking about the ME trilogy bundle on Origin, then from my reading it is only for the base games along with Pinnacle and bring down the sky for ME1...all later DLC would have to be purchased, the individual bundles are about 20 bucks apiece.
