Help! game froze and deleted career!

I was in the shadow broker's lair reassigning points and the game froze! I had to shut down the ps3...when I opened it there wasn't a "resume" button and my career seems gone!! Why and what can be done to correct this??

@hazellight123 Fair enough on the cloud saves, if you don't want Plus then that's not an option.

As for cleaning it I think the best way would be to do a search for a tutorial or youtube video. I don't have a PS3 so I can't really make a personal recommendation, but a quick search turned up a bunch of short guides.

@hazellight123 Hmm, do you have any external cloud saves? Is there any chance of an account/profile mixup after you logged back in? I can understand losing a file to save corruption but losing a whole career of them seems unlikely.

I don't have an external hard drive and I haven't used cloud. Does it cost anything?
My entire "adept" career I started last week is gone from me2's loading/continue option. The game just proceeded to "new game" or "load" and it had an old career as senitinel.
I looked in the save files for PS3 and it had my "adept", but it was corrupted. I tried file restore (safe mode) and it didn't work.

My game also just froze right now 6:32pm mid-loading screen after horizon. This is the same exact thing that happened a few days ago. This hasn't happened before and I"m tired of this. I spent so much time after work on this and I started up another career (surpised I did).

What do I do now? The same thing happened. I'll have to press the power button again.

That said, this isn't going to help you now, I fear that you're out of luck. Does this happen to any other games

I'd also be a little afraid that you are having hardware issues.

Does this happen to any other games? If it only happens with ME2 I'd try reinstalling the content. If it's affecting other games I'd start by clearing out any vents to ensure that you have clear airflow.

Past this if the issue persists you may want to look into contacting Sony support.

That cloud saving method doesn't work, Sony now has a plus button which brings me through a couple pages where I'll have to purchase playstation plus, which I won't purchase.

It's only happened with ME2 so far. Luckily, on yesterday's froze my game career/save file wasn't deleted. I just had to restart from the prior checkpoint.

How do I clear our the vents? I understand the reverse fan blow feature is damaging.

My ps3 is out of warranty (1st gen fat).
