I do understand idea of taxes - I really do. But what Sloane does is not about taxes - it is about abusing and mistreating the poor. And speaking about "fair new world" at the same time.
Also... Somehow Reyes/Collective/Angara are able to afford all those guests without expecting any fees, right? ;-)
Actually, the big one was water, but no one ever talks about the fact that you made most of the water fairly potable (or at least a lot more diluted).
The water purifier thing didn't make a lot of sense to me, actually. Turn it into steam (maybe in multiple steps) and re-condense it. Energy intensive, but probably not amazingly so.

It could be quite dangerous - like acid rains, You know. I would probably try cryo-condensation instead. And all the same I guess the big issue was the infrastructure - whatever You are using on the water, the equipment will degrade fast.
But I do agree that there should be easier ways to solve the issue, like neutralizing the sulfur, and THEN filtering the water - or something. Heck, You can even synthesize water in a number of ways, and Your omni-tool is able to produce guns and armors from raw elements... ;-)

I have to digress just a moment. I want to yell at the creators of Drack's loyalty mission to Elaadan's moon.It starts with it raining on you. If you have such a water shortage that 500 gallons is all you have for your colony, it would pay to go to that moon and just grab the rain water runoff...

And when we get to dextro-amino-acids vs. levo-amino-acids (I got it, no more abbreviations) it should probably be much greater problem than water...
