[INFO] Mass Effect Legendary Edition - Common Game Fixing Mods

Hey, Commanders

We know that many of you enjoy using Mods to help shape and change the game in different ways. You are aware that here on EA Forums, we have a standing rule that links for Mods are a no-go. This rule is not changing.

But we have recognized that some Mods have become standard go-tos for fixing some smaller game issues that have not been addressed so far, and that it has been frustrating to both community members and our Heroes not to be allowed to share them here.

With this being said, we have given permission for this thread to be here because we hope that it will help you, our players, play. Our heroes will maintain it to house links to mods that they support as solutions to common game issues.

To affirm: EA, BioWare, and the Community team have not verified the safety of these mods for your PC or game. Mods are a "use at your own risk" system.

We encourage you to follow safe practices when downloading and utilizing any Mod from any location, using appropriate anti-virus/anti-malware tools and checks.

  •   Introduction.

This thread will have 4 additional posts, this post with instructions on installing mods and where to find them, and 3 game-specific posts.

(Kudos to @Fred_vdp for adding the Andromeda Mods.)

    Terms:

    • Mass Effect Legendary Edition =  MELE
    • (Mass Effect games inside the MELE = LE1, LE2, LE3.)
    • Mass Effect 1 (2007) = ME1
    • Mass Effect 2 (2010) = ME2
    • Mass Effect 3 (2012) = ME3
    • Mass Effect Andromeda = MEA.
    • Quality Of Life = QoL

All mods posted here are found on The Nexus.
Nexus Mods is one of, if not the largest PC modding communities on the Internet.

It offers automatic virus scans by VirusTotal for the uploaded mod files, preview file contents before downloading and two factor authentication for account security.

Before downloading from the nexus you must create an account, it offers two account types, Normal and Premium.

You don't need to create a Premium account to download files, all Mods on the Nexus are free to use.

(Some mod authors may ask for a donation, but again, it's entirely up to you if you want to donate to them, you can download the mods at no cost).

    Installation: (ME1, ME2, ME3, MELE.)

Some Mods might be stand alone installers, (like the Save editor) but most Mods are installed either with "ME3Tweaks Mod Manager" by Mgamerz (Content Mods) or "Mass Effect Modder" (Texture Mods)
(You can download  "Mass Effect Modder" in the "Tools" menu of "ME3Tweaks Mod Manager".)

These are the quasi standard tools for Mass Effect Modding by now, they make modding much easier than it was in the early days.

Installation of Mods to your game:

Always read the Installation instructions of the Mod you want to install and of the tool you use carefully. Everything you need to know is in these instructions.

"ME3Tweaks Mod Manager" has a Discord if you need additional help. The link is in the Nexus instructions.

    Notice:

Some Mods for the original trilogy are rather old and outdated; if the instructions for these mods say that you should use ME3 Explorer to install them, I highly recommend not doing so.

There are ways to convert old Mods to the new Format "ME3Tweaks Mod Manager" uses although there is no guarantee that they will work flawless.

    Installation: (MEA)

The Toolset for Andromeda is "Frosty tool set".)
Please read the instructions on the page carefully!
(Do not use a drive that is not NTFS formatted and make sure FrostyModManager.exe and the game you try to Mod aren't in a location that requires higher privileges such as Program Files/Program Files (x86).
It still might be necessary to run "FrostyModManager.exe" as Administrator.)

Here is a link to the Frosty Discord.

Installation of Mods to your game:

Always read the Installation instructions of the Mod you want to install and of the tool you use carefully. Everything you need to know should be in these instructions.

If you have any further questions please ask them in the appropriate game board, but note that we can only offer  limited technical support for mods here.
This is the responsibility of the mod developer.
