try to change the Video card driver version to an older one, that worked for me in the past.First make a clean uninstall of the video card driver. What video card do you use?
@Mrgaby95 I have
Tahiti PRO [Radeon HD 7950/8950 OEM / R9 280]
I did a clean install with DDU and installed the latest.
The oldest drivers i found here https://www.amd.com/en/support/previous-drivers/graphics/amd-radeon-hd/amd-radeon-hd-7000-series/amd-radeon-hd-7950 were from 9/9/2020 so i guess i can try those, unless you have any idea of where to fetch even older ones. I hope it's the GPU and this is a quick fix.

@Nevtrdon't go for oldest or the last one, try a 64 bit version 3 or 4 older versions. Take a look at the reviews of the version and try to find one that does not create high usage. There are many who creates problems like this, for your problem i am sure its something linked to drivers or antivirus, try to install the game with no antivirus activ, the save will be there so there is no risk.

@Mrgaby95 I have installed the oldest and latest version, same issue. I had some 2012 version as well. I have also tried with whatever windows installs right after you wipe the drivers and same issue again. Perhaps it's not the gpu?...
There is no anti virus installed as i have previously mentioned.

It's probably not the graphics driver, that would be an easy fix, although there seem to be a bit more problems with the AMD drivers.
Test this:
Create a new Windows user account (Administrator) don't use local special characters, use only Characters from the ASCII table
- Reboot > Log in to the new user account.
If that don't works it might be a problem with the Realtek audio driver if your Motherboard vendor includes sound enhancing software from Nahimic.
Other than that disconnection everything that is not necessary from your machine > reboot > test.
Also manually updating the most important driver of your system, chipset, network, bluetooth etcetera. (Don't trust the device manager if it tells you they are fine.)
Fresh installing Windows 10 should help, but I can promise that either.

@holger1405 There are no special characters in the name of the Windows account so i skipped that part initially. I can give it a go but i doubt that will be the case.
Realtek could be the issue here. Perhaps if i disable them in device manager that would be a solid way to try?
I also have a question. If it boots in safe mode and i can get in-game fine like that, would you say that rules out that it isn't happening due to not meeting minimum requirements? This troubleshooting is really a pain in the * but i appreciate your assistance, even more so if you aren't paid for this.
Note that this pc is a fresh upgrade from windows 7, so while it's not a fresh win 10 install, it is a fresh system & driver update. Both old and new drivers behaved the same, only that with old gpu drivers there was a lot of glitchy artifacts as well. I'll disconnect any non necessary dongle as well and give it a go.

@holger1405 the new account didn't work and neither did disconnecting everything non essential.
I also disabled all sound and usb devices via device manager and rebooted, but that didn't change anything either. Is there anything else you could think of? - holger14055 years agoHero+
Your Specs are fine, this machine should run MELE without a problem.

@Nevtrcheck and see if the bios version is up to date, if its not take care on how you update it. And i agree with @holger1405 there are a lot of problems with amd drivers and pieces, until 1 year ago i did heave a pc build on amd and every 7-8 months stopped working and i was forced to send it to service for repairs and even after repairs were done i still did heave a lot of crashes and problems with it and the most sad part its that no service repairs could find out the source of the problem, after that i changed my pc to Intel, and that old pc was not cheap when i got it the price was around 1000$

The shouldn't be releasing such poor prepared product in the first place, jumping through 10 hoops to try to get something to work. I would have refunded long ago if i could.
@Mrgaby95 i do have an intel cpu, it's just the graphics that are AMD and it doesn't seem like gpu is at fault here. Well, the game is at fault to begin with, but i have exhausted all possible solutions. I don't wanna touch BIOS at all.
@holger1405 do you have any idea how could i pinpoint the culprit since it's working in safe mode? Would a restore point + uninstalling all drivers and allow windows to put their own default drivers be a good starting point? I'm torn between cursing EA and still trying. Thanks. - holger14055 years agoHero+
I understand your anger, but this is a mismatch between the game and a driver on your system and Bioware simply can't test with all system configurations out there.
An old BIOS could very well be a problem btw
You could wait for the patch that should come rather soon now, but I can't promise if it will help.
I think the best chance now, and possible fastest way would be a clean Windows 10 installation.
(I still can't promises anything.)You can try a repair installation first:
Instructions are here. Scroll down to "Repair with an Inplace Upgrade on Windows 10".
This method will leave all personal data and programs intact, but because of that it is posible that it wont work in this case.
This is usually a safe process, but be sure to back up your important files!
If you go for the fresh installation > Install Windows (Preferable in offline mode) > Install the chipset driver > Reboot > Install the Graphic driver > reboot > Test.
Test after any additional driver you install.
- 5 years ago@Nevtr I understand your point of view but since its not a general problem for all you cant just place all the fault on Bioware, 1 example is me and many more like me that do no heave any problems with the game... i would be angry as well if i were in your place i can understand you...i hope you find a solution soon.
