They will not change a regional language lock, they never did.
But as said, I think you can get yourself a international version without this lock, that is up to you.
But I can’t be sure about the language options of the international version until I test it myself tomorrow.

I suggest nothing, just informing people about there options.
I neither like the restrictions on the international version, were you can't change subtitles and audio separately, nor do I like the politics of language locking Russian and Polish versions EA practises since... well always.
If you search my post history, you will find post from 5-6 years ago where I stated the same.
EA has reasons for doing this, but I don't think this will help, on the contrary, it will make things worse.
- 5 years ago@holger1405 There is no reason for any, that is, in our case, the game was never released by the publisher itself with this godless Russian voice acting. In Steam, it is sold purely in English, and in Origin (the version in which appeared long after the release of Russian voice acting) it comes with Russian subtitles and with English voice acting. If some crazy people wanted to play with the Russian dubble, then they themselves looked for an installer file somewhere and installed it manually. So here they themselves apparently decided that there is, so they need to shove it in. Moreover, in the second and third parts there is no such thing, there by default there is English voice acting and Russian text. So there are not some strict regional restrictions, as, for example, in Skyrim, which on all platforms and all publications came with Russian dubbing. Right now they decided to insert it, deciding that it might be more convenient for us. But this is not so, because not only is she incredibly terrible in everything, in voices, acting, inserts that are not in the original and which completely change the images of some characters. This has never happened before in the second and third parts of the series. So it turns out some kind of resonance: first Russian voices, then English, and this is, at least, stupid

Adding the Russian voice-over for people that might find it convenient, was not the reason I talked about, and imho also not the reason EA locked the settings in this way. 😉
As said, I don't like it either, it is bad politics imho, but I never saw them change the regional lock, so I doubt they will do it this time.
- 5 years ago@holger1405 Well, that means it will prove that they don't care about the players and EA has definitely turned into a company for which players are just wallets. Here it is not a couple of people, 95 percent of us definitely hate our dubbing, and if this is not corrected, then the company will show its true face. In other countries, too, how many are dissatisfied with this, you can't just say "well, we have never changed the policy, so sorry we can’t help, leave me alone." It's not okay. Many companies listen to little things, but here ...
I, if anything, I'm not expressing my concerns for you now, I'm just amazed at how this happened at all, given that the originals didn't seem to have such problems, and why it's still not fixed - holger14055 years agoHero+

I just tell you about my experience in recent years regarding the language lock of games in Poland and Russia.
And because of this experience I don't think that they will make a change here, so don't get you hopes up.
But that people express their disappointment with this politics is a good thing, it is the only thing that might change the mind of the top brass of EA about this.
- 5 years agoWell, here we are expressing our dissatisfaction, otherwise if we just sit in silence, resigned that nothing will change, then it will not change. They say that for this, all these forums are needed to have feedback. If they do nothing, then again they will lose customers. For example, the last time I pre-ordered something from EA, I'm sure there are still people like that. Someone will think the same because of some other error or problem, then because of another, someone else will decide the same way. And when the publisher realizes that they should have listened to the players, it will be too late. History has shown that even the largest publishers can go broke in a couple of years. EA is certainly a big player with big streaks in his pocket, but still, not listening directly to the players, they ruin the streams that feed them. Dead Space 3 as an example, where they thought they knew better what the players wanted and as a result the sales were low, the ratings were not very good and the studio was closed, because of this hatred and minus one asset in the company. So we, ordinary players, can only write wherever possible and hope for the best, because no one will help us except ourselves

It is sad that EA still didn't respond. I am not going to wait any longer, I've just asked Steam to give me my money back for ME:LE. Huge disappointment that I have to spend hours understanding, HOW TO MANUALLY replace language files, to get from a game experience I USED to have and expected to have again with refreshed graphics. Why they even mixed dubbing and subtitles...
