I just had this happen to me. Multiplayer match, everything is going fine ... aaaaaand wwwwooosh, there goes the sound. No more sound at all in "Mass Effect Andromeda". Sound everywhere else still works tip top. E.g. I can "Alt+Tab" to another window and I will still get sound just fine, it's only "ME:A" that has gone mute. So it's not a system-wide problem.
When I exit "ME:A" and then start it again, sound will work again.
Very annoying 😕

I can also confirm the same, all other windows operations delivering audio with no issue.. youtube, and windows sound effects all working. As does any test i do of my audio hardware, and there is no 'event' in my log to suggest that anything is wrong with audio.

I have this same problem. I have reported this problem to EA about sound going out completely and going mute.
I too have installed the latest audio drivers for my card and I've tried disabling sound drivers for nvidia or realtek. It does not matter, there is something int he ME:A client that is crashing the sound. The only way to get sound back is to completely restart the game.
Usually I just mute everyone and I feel this prevents this issue.
Here's what I think is causing sound to go completely out during multiplayer:
1. Someone is using their microphone on their computer to overload the ME:A client with sound info causing your sound to go silence.
2. The aura field that Asari Adept give off may be overloading sound.
3. Too many explosions and other sounds around you at once can cause this.
I've tried everything to see what causes this problem. I've jus sat inside a doorway on my last play through on wave 3 and all of a sudden, sound goes out to complete silence.

PS4 Pro: So yesterday, I played several matches, and even though I had less Network Connection Errors, I had more on sound one match, next match no sound, then the next match I had sound, then the next match I had no sound: the on/off method, which all in all, sometimes is a good thing, when Kandros gets on my nerves, not hearing his voice is a blessing, but I can always turn off my sound on my tv, I don't need the game doing it for me. Fix...haha, what does any of these companies know about what that word means....

This is happening for me too ... it´s infuriating. Have no idea what´s causing it.

happened to me for the first time ever. but it happened 4 matches in a row. have to close the game and restart it
- Anonymous9 years agoAbsolutely dreadful state of affairs. Yet Mother company whose games I am going to completely boycott... Getting quite the list now. This has been present since day one EA and in the latest patch it's got worse!!! Not better...
You best sort yourselves out or you'll find yourselves going bust what with all these decent up and coming game companies that look after their fan base.- Anonymous9 years ago
For me at least the biggest problem with this issue is the feeling that its getting no exposure to those that have the power to fix it. This forum is awesome and all that, but an acknowledgment of this fault and hopefully an eta of a hotfix would be a wonderful idea especially considering the playerbase is getting rather disillusioned by the long 1 month waits between updates.
There comes a point where people buy new games and move on, or they get so frustrated with the support for a product that they give up on it anyway.. and i'm abound with patience, but i do think 2 months+ for a fix for a problem of this kind is pushing the boundaries a lot.

Just happened to me again 2 x in Patch 1.09. *Extremely irritating.* 🤒

Today 22/07 was the first day i've played all day without the sound dropping. Amazed. doubt any fix has been done.. as i've pretty much given up hope on that .. but it was nice to get 1 play session in without having to restart the game due to no sound.

This may be the solution. There could be comms devices within ME Andromeda for multiplayer.
Go to Sound settings, under the Communications tab set "When Windows detects communications activity:" choose "Do Nothing". This seems to have cured problems with audio on multiple browser windows/tabs cutting off.- Anonymous8 years ago
I know you say 'may' be a solution, but you know? i feel i've tried everything else so i've set this anyway and will try it out over the coming days. thanks for the input.. and an idea.. i'll give it a spin and see how it goes. Had to do a gold earlier where sound dropped in wave 1, not fun at all.
