Mass Effect 2 & 3 not free anymore?

It was revealed last month that the dlc for me2 and me3 would be free after the removal of the bioware points. I checked the store today and found that the bundles still cost 20+ dollars, have they gone back on the free dlcs? Are the DLCs only free in the US?

  • This was from the official announcement:

'To support you through this change, most DLC (downloadable content) that was previously only purchasable with BioWare Points are now available free of charge.'

Since major single player DLC for ME2 and ME3 could be bought in a bundle with real money, that would exclude those. However, there are reports from multiple major gaming sites that say it's all single player DLC, which would contradict the official announcement by EA.

If it's really free, they should get rid of those bundles.

@EA_QueenBee: the link you gave doesn't include the ME3 DLC's.  And IIRC, in the past, these links didn't grant you the rights to them, they just let you download them.  Has that changed?

    OP:

You said the Bundles still have a cost.  Yes unfortunately they still do.

But have you tried to download the individual DLC's under "Extra Content"?  These should all be free. Alas, you do have to select each individually.

(And yes, they should remove the bundles, or just make them free as well)

    Hey Everyone

This post is getting a bit old at this point so we are locking it down. If you are running into issues with the game, or have a question, please start a new thread so we can start tracking those issues.

    Thank you!
