Mass Effect 2 LE crashing while on the Normandy

Lately I have begun to experience very weird audio glitches, like when crossing from 1 part of the deck to another, the ambient sound should change, and it glitches out and is just silent.

Sometimes I can hear my footsteps and door opening sound, sometimes I dont. When I dont, the game is completely silent, even in dialogue. Going to another deck can sometimes fix the issue, but mostly reloading a save does just that.

Also now I just get crashes. The audio starts to glitch out, loop and after a few seconds the game freezes and stops responding. And sometimes the game just gets stuck on the loading screen between decks. In both those occasions, pressing ESC or mashing buttons will bring up the windows crash thing where I can press the button to Close the Program and it boots me into the launcher.

As far as I looked - I cant find any similar info on the internet.

One of the modules that interferers with LE1 is "CELib_x64.dll" whitch AFAIK is part of a trainer (Cheat) software.

You should remove this trainer and then repair the game.

(Origin: Game Library > Right-click the game cover > Repair)

(EA app: My Collection > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

Then restart the PC and test.

If you are on a PC try to repair the game.

(Origin > Game Library > right click MELE > Repair)
(Steam > Game Library > right click at MELE > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

  • @holger1405 Sadly, it did not help, sort of. I got a few solid sessions in, without any problems, but after a few days the problem has returned again.

You did tried the repair again? II might be that files got corrupted again.

Is it still crashing at the same spot?

If yes create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that  with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.
