Mass Effect 2 Original Login Timeout

Mate all you had to do was read my first post.

Anyway, I can still connect, and also I think it's a moot point since all the DLC was validated in the first place.

I realize you are trying to be helpful but seriously if you fully read my original post you'd know that nothing you said actually is, with all due respect.

@jros83  Hey, so I am curious on this one because a time-out error is rare, honestly. I can tell you DLC has nothing to do with the error unless - when you load up the game - it tries to validate the DLC and then you get the error.

The game always checks twice when you load in. So there could be an actual account issue, or an entitlement issue so if it happens again let me know and I will take a look at the account side.

@EA_ShepardWhen I boot up the game, the first connection to Ceberus Network doesn't connect. If I wait about a minute, then try again, it will connect.



It's every time. But it's also not a problem.



My only question is if I even have to keep doing it at all anymore? Does my DLC stay validated and active if I DON'T log in to Cerberus? Because if so, then I'll just not do it at all.

Also, not sure if this has anything to do with it, I purchased ME 2 when it was new back in 2010 or so, and I purchased it on Steam. It was detected by my old Origin app, and grandfathered over to the EA App when that whole thing happened. So it's been a valid purchase of mine all this time, but I never bought it THROUGH the EA App or even Origin before it.

There's actually a few EA games I own from Steam that have ended up on my EA App that exact same way (for example, CnC 3 + Kane's Wrath, RA3, and Dragon Age: Origins, ME1; all also purchased at release on Steam).

That communication error happens every time on the first attempt, but will then succeed if I wait a minute or two and try a second time.

It also boots up with that error message when I launch the game even though I told it not to try to auto-login.

@jros83 I am doing a completely fresh install with no files to see if I get issues. One thing I did not see is whether you got the Windows security pop-up when you installed and launched the game.

Message says: Windows Firewall has blocked some features of Mass Effect 2 on all public and private networks.
