I downloaded demo and when I press start to play, on the title screen. Same message appears and then closes, and I tried the admin stuff.
Thanks. I've since downloaded the demo and I can see the issue on my machine too, so it looks like it's on our end.

I am having the same problem. CTD when the "Sorry it appears sthe EA Servers are currently down..." message. I would really like to try the Demo before I buy the game.

EA_David, are the support folks at EA ever going to fix this issue? I have spent two nights working on different solutions to try to solve the problem, but the only help I get is "reinstall" or "check your network", or my personal favorite, "reset (ie delete) your HOSTS file." I am an IT Support Admin for 5 years, and a software developer (professionally) for 2, but by business duties, for almost 11. This is not a case where over 100 people on a single thread have bad computer settings; this is an issue with either the software, the server, or both. I am not foolish enough to dare buy a game that I cannot even get the demo working for. This has been most of a year at this point, and people still complain on your forums about the game having this problem.
If it cannot be fixed, why is it still available within the Origins UI?
Regards,Paul B.

I really like the game and I was willing to buy it for pc. Gave up after trying to test the demo.
Same problem here...

I'm hoping to get to play it to see if I like it. But I do not buy games unless I can test them out myself, or if I have already played them (GOG.com). Newer games look great, but that doesn't translate into great gameplay, uniqueness or a good storyline. 🙂
We shall see if they respond...It does not look hopeful, I have had three chats with them, and the issue has yet to be resolved.
